Erich Hoyt

Erich Hoyt is Senior Research Fellow with WDCS, the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society, Co-Director of the Far East Russia Orca Project (FEROP). He is the author of more than 400 scientific reports, articles and papers on whales and dolphins, marine conservation, marine protected areas, and whale watching worldwide. His 15 books include Orca: The Whale Called Killer, Seasons of the Whale, Creatures of the Deep, Whales, Dolphins & Porpoises (with M. Carwardine, P. Gill and E. Fordyce), The Earth Dwellers and Insect Lives. A Vannevar Bush Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and twice a James Thurber Writer-in-Residence, Hoyt has lectured widely. He is a Canadian-American and currently lives in North Berwick, Scotland.
